Experiencing the law of attraction

September 10, 2011

Just yesterday, I had a spent a productive 45 minutes on the phone with my mastermind group. When it was my turn to speak, I explained about my Canadian Goldenflax Seed business. My mastermind group offered advice on how to increase my business by expanding my market, and incorporating other ideas into my product line.

Later yesterday afternoon, I got a phone call from a good friend who advises people on nutrition and healthy eating habits, and writes recipe books using whole and raw food. She pointed out that she has a recipe in her “Health by Chocolate” book that incorporates flaxseed. We discussed the possibility of my using that recipe to create samples to offer at the Farmer’s Markets.

She had come up with her idea after reading how my flaxseed samples were no match against the delicious cookies in the booth next to mine. (See my blog titled, “Flaxing the day away.”) We spent about an hour on the phone discussing all types of possibilities and ideas.

Today, at the Farmer’s Market, an individual came up to my booth to ask about my product. After making her purchase, her and I started a lengthy conversation about how and where to market my flaxseed. It was an interesting and informative discussion.

After she left, I realized that the law of attraction had been in motion. Within 48 hours, I had more ideas that I could implement simply because a seed had been planted during my mastermind group.

This certainly isn’t the only time I have seen the law of attraction so clearly evident. For the past five years, I had been toying with the idea of moving into the healthy lifestyle and eating field as a professional. It began with the idea of my possibly buying a health food store. That idea didn’t last long when I quickly figured out I just didn’t have the capital for such a venture. Even though the thought lay dormant for a number of years, the seed had been planted.

Over the past six months, I felt a greater desire to become a professional in the healthy lifestyle and eating field. I began to consider such roles as massage therapist and reflexologist. After meditating on these ideas, I realized that I did not want to be a direct service provider. Rather, my skill lay in educating people and I knew I had to keep looking.

In the middle of August, I was browsing through the St. Albert Farmer’s Market and came across the Canadian Goldenflax Seed booth. I had wandered over to her booth simply to check on her prices and compare them to the prices I could find in the health food stores. And there on her table lay a small sign that read, “This business is for sale.” I knew in that instant that this business was for me.

Within a few weeks, I had purchased the business and set up my own booth at the Farmer’s Market. And as each week passed, I received more confirmation that this was definitely the path that I was to take.

Setting your intentions is a powerful tool for attracting what you want in your life. Once you commit to your idea, once you say “yes, I’m going for it,” either to yourself or to someone else, the law of attraction is set in motion.

The law of attraction begins to bring ideas, people, and resources that you can utilize to fulfill your intentions. The problem is not how you will meet your intentions. The problem becomes what you will do with all the ideas, people, and resources that surround you because of the law of attraction.

This does not mean that you will succeed without any challenges or obstacles. Nor does this mean that you can simply sit back and bask in the bounties being showered down upon you. There is still a lot of work that you must do. And there are many challenges that you need to meet.

With all of the suggestions provided to me over the past 48 hours, I have to decide which one will be the most appropriate at this time. I may implement other ideas as time goes on, or I may reject some of the ideas completely. I need to focus on the one that will suit my intentions the best at this time.

That is the most difficult task of all. Sometimes I just want to leap at all the ideas and start as many as I possibly can. Then I end up putting effort into an idea that is not worth my time. And, I end up stressed by the amount of work I’ve begun at once. I need to ensure I give myself the space and time I require to choose the best idea.
